Isoborneol

Isoborneol is a monoterpenoid found in various cannabis strains as well as in other plants such as camphor, nutmeg, ginger, and thyme. It has a camphoraceous, woody aroma and is used in flavorings, medicinal products, and as a natural insect repellent.

Isoborneol is recognized for its potential therapeutic properties, including antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective effects. It has been studied for its ability to inhibit the herpes simplex virus (HSV-1) and its potential use in treating neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s due to its antioxidant properties.
